Proving that age is simply a number when it comes to learning new skills, Lezlie emphasizes the importance of learning the foundational skills without feeling the need to succumb to the added pressure of competition. She excels in mentoring newer riders, making them feel at ease by sharing her own personal experiences. By being vocal about her own challenges in her light hearted manner, Lezlie provides a roadmap for other beginners, indicating that while learning a new skill later than some can be hard, it also brings new friendships, along with a sense of belonging, joy, and community.
